SBAC State Tests

April 19,  2024

Dear students and families,

As we approach the state test, I want to take a moment to wish you all the best of luck and success. I understand that this test can be a source of stress and anxiety, but I want you to know that your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed.

As your principal, I have seen firsthand the effort and commitment that you have put into your studies throughout the year. You have worked tirelessly to master the material and prepare for this moment. I do not doubt that you will rise to the occasion and perform to the best of your ability.

Remember, the state test is just one measure of your academic progress. While it is important, it is not the be-all and end-all of your education. Regardless of the outcome, you should be proud of all that you have accomplished and the growth that you have shown.

So, stay focused, stay calm, and stay confident. Believe in yourself and your abilities, and you will achieve great things. I am rooting for each and every one of you and know that you will do your very best.

Good luck and best wishes,
Mr. Serdar, Principal

Dear students, staff, and families,

Spring Break is here: There will be no classes, and no exams next week. No reason not to rest, relax and recharge to be ready for the remainder of the school year. This is a time for you to do something for yourself or your family that everyday life may otherwise hamper.

Whether traveling or staying close to home, I encourage you to take some time to engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Take the opportunity to care for your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We all do better in school and life when we are healthy.

As we look ahead to the remainder of the school year, I am confident that we will continue to rise to the occasion and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Let us return from Spring break with renewed energy and a sense of purpose, ready to tackle the next phase of our journey.

Thank you for all that you do, and have a wonderful Spring break!
Sincerely,
Mr. Serdar

Welcome Back to School!
August 2022

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the start of the 2022-2023 school year!  I would like to welcome our incoming kindergarten students, new students, and all returning students and their families to Coral Academy Centennial Hills. I can’t stress enough how important it is to enter the new school year with a positive and optimistic outlook. Our positive words become positive thoughts that lead to positive actions.

CASLV Centennial Hills provides a safe learning environment and a positive school culture that centers on the philosophy that all students can, and will, Strive, Excel, and Succeed.  I wholeheartedly believe that, academically, Coral Academy Centennial Hills is a high-performing elementary and middle school based on our students’ academic achievement in our core programs and the results on the state assessments. I want to thank all staff, students, and parents for creating and upholding Coral Academy's high level of expectation year after year.

We will continue with our building-level goals for the 2022-2023 school year that align with the school improvement plan. We will continue to focus on improving student achievement in the content areas of English/Language Arts and Math. In ELA we will foster literacy independence through the implementation of our core reading program and literacy-based centers during our ELA instructional time.  In the content area of mathematics, we will focus on increasing student achievement through the implementation of best mathematical practices and math centers. With the new math curriculum, Reveal Math, we will have an additional math period this school year.

With the MTSS program and SOAR matrix, CASLV Centennial Hills will ensure that the emotional and social needs of students are coordinated to support student relationships and foster positive learning outcomes. We will make a concerted effort to embed SEL strategies and practices with our staff and students on a daily basis. We will continue to enhance our positive communication with parents. And lastly, we will continue to foster a warm and nurturing school culture.  We will provide a safe and secure building environment for all staff and students.

Please take the time to visit CASLV Centennial Hills’ web page to read through the Elementary and Secondary Handbook. The handbook describes district policies and building procedures/expectations.

Thank you for your continued support to the dedicated staff at CASLV Centennial Hills. If you have questions at any time, please contact me so I can help.  I look forward to a great school year!

Sincerely,
Serdar Yuksekkaya, M.Ed.
